By the Light of the Stars

This work pays honor to the neon art of theaters that feel like they are from another time. "By the Light of the Stars" is a collection of light from the ten surviving Michigan drive in theaters. I wish to inspire others to take a trip out to the movies under the stars. Seeing a movie in a drive in theater is a completely different experience than the traditional theater. In some ways it is a more social event with your car being a small capsule of anything from quiet to critique. Each experience was made unique by the individuality of each theater (window speakers, food delivery to the car, heaters for year round operation, etc). Lastly, I hope this inspires you to go out and support these small theaters so that they can continue to entertain for years to come.
